The featured map presents NAM model forecasted 2 meter above ground air temperatures for 4 PM this afternoon. Most of the state is shown well above 100, with some locations pushing 110 and close to all-time record high temperatures. The model has been running warmer than reality recently, so these values probably represent a theoretical max moreso than the actual high temperatures today. The good news is that cooler air will enter the state tonight and highs for at least the next few days will be closer to average for this time of year.
