Winds were once again howling on Thursday. The featured map presents a smoothed analysis of peak wind gust reports from Iowa airport sites. A number of locations topped 50 MPH. This combined with chilly temperatures and occasional bursts of rain, sheet, snow, and whatever other frozen concoction mother nature had on hand made for miserable weather day. The good news is that warmer temperatures are at least in the forecast next week, but the windy conditions look to persist along with numerous chances for needed rainfall.
