Drought Help?

Posted: 20 Aug 2021 04:57 AM

Rainfall is knocking on western Iowa's door this Friday morning, but is not expected to make it much into the state today. Another round is forecast to develop this afternoon and evening with a chance of severe weather along with the needed rainfall. The featured map presents the combination of most recent US Drought Monitor and the Weather Prediction Center precipitation forecast over the next five days. At this point, northwestern Iowa appears favored for receiving the highest totals. The next chance of rain arrives on Sunday with summer like storms expected early next week.
