Chamber of Commerce Weather

Posted: 16 Aug 2021 05:41 AM

Outside of the fact that most of Iowa needs rainfall, the weather this past weekend was rather spectacular with no smoke, plenty of sunshine, and low humidity. The featured chart presents one minute solar radiation data from Saturday and Sunday for the Newell site (west central Iowa). A smooth curve is indicative of no clouds in the state. There were a few blips on Sunday which are seen by the drops in radiation and then some above curve values due to reflection. This was also excellent weather for the first weekend of the Iowa State Fair. Humidity levels look to build this week, but nothing too miserable. It is summer in Iowa yet!
