Sioux City Daily Records

Posted: 03 Aug 2021 05:34 AM

It was a chilly start to Monday morning with low temperatures dipping down into the 50s. Sioux City tied a record low temperature for the date with a low of 50. The featured chart presents the year and dates that the present day record climatology exists for Sioux City. Ties are included so you can see that small one dot blip in early August 2021 for "Minimum low". Decadal histograms are also included to show which decades have the most number of events. The dust bowl era of the 1930s certainly dominates on the record warm high and low temperatures. It is sort of interesting to see that for the 2020s, the highest frequencies are shown for the minimum low values as what was tied yesterday for the site.
