Waterloo reported just over an inch of rainfall on Wednesday making for the first such report this year and the first daily inch plus rainfall since 22 October 2020. The featured chart presents some metrics regarding precipitation for the site with the top panel displaying the longest periods on record by day of the year below an inch and with no rainfall reported. The bottom panel is simply the max daily precipitation by day of the year. The most recent stretch falls well short of the longest period which lasted between Jun 1909 and August 1910. The Waterloo area has been one of the direst areas in the state of late and while the area received a number of tornadoes on Wednesday, much needed rainfall was received as well.
