The weekly update to the US Drought Monitor was released on Thursday and showed little change to the analyzed drought situation for Iowa. The rainfall considered up until Tuesday morning wasn't significant enough to improve the analysis. The featured movie presents a time lapse of the weekly US Drought Monitor over the past two years. It is remarkable to see the lack of analyzed drought over much of the US to start this lapse back in May 2019 compared to now. You can find a longer term line lapse covering the inception of the USDM in 2000 till today.
