First Sub 55 High

Posted: 07 Sep 2020 05:33 AM

The weather this week will be an epic chance of pace from the recent stretch of very warm conditions and the summer season in general. The forecast for Tuesday has the high temperature just in the lower 50s for Ames! The featured chart presents the period each year between the last spring season sub 55 high temperature and the first fall value. The long term average is about the 7th of October, so if the forecast pans out, we will be about a month early this year. At this point, one wonders how much crazier the year 2020 can get, but at least we will likely miss out on any snow that falls over the high plains. If there is any good news in all of this, we should see plenty of rain this week.
