High Humidity is Here
Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:59 AM
While temperatures have been warm for much of June, humidity values have not been all that bad.
The consequence of lower humidity being cooler overnight low temperatures as the atmosphere is
more easily able to cool off. With the calendar soon turning to July, the summer time humidity one
would expect in Iowa is now here. The featured chart displays the daily range between the lowest
and highest dew point temperature for Ames. Any days touching 70+ degrees are highlighted in red.
This past weekend saw our first sustained dew points in the lower 70s and this sticky weather looks
to stick around this week.
