The last half of May was rather gloomy with not much sunshine to be had. An IEM Daily Feature from a few weeks ago wondered when the gloom would end? The featured chart presents daily solar radiation totals from the Doon (NW Iowa) ISU Soil Moisture station. The chart nicely shows the consistently higher totals we have seen during June with all days this month above the gloomy period of May. We have a few more days of sunshine to go before the return of summer time daily thunderstorm chances.
