The weather yesterday felt like we had jumped into summer with muggy (for early April) conditions and temperatures into the lower 80s for parts of Iowa. This heat and humidity helped to fire some big storms over southeastern Iowa during the early evening hours and brought large hail to places like Cedar Rapids. The featured image is a KCRG-TV webcam shot from Vinton looking east at the storm near Cedar Rapids. Lots of pretty storm structure detail is visible.
