Season Snowfall Departure

Posted: 11 Feb 2020 05:32 AM

It is as good of a time as any to check in on snowfall departures from average for the season as shown by the featured map. These values are based on first order station reports made by the NWS. Values in blue represent the number of inches above average and red are below. Iowa is shown as a mixed back with values just a few inches of average. The largest positive departures are over South Dakota up to northern Michigan. The largest negative departures are over the eastern portion of this plot, which has struggled to experience winter weather so far this season.
