Super to see sunshine

Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:34 AM

The weather on Super Bowl Sunday was nothing short of spectacular with most of the state at least in the 40s and a few locations in far southeastern Iowa reaching the lower 60s. The return of sunshine this weekend was noticeable as well as shown by the featured chart of daily solar radiation from an ISU Soil Moisture Network site near Ames. The brown bars are daily observations with the black line indicating an estimated clear sky value for the date. The clear skies on Saturday broke a cloudy stretch of ten days dating back to the 21st of January. The winter season reality and clouds will make a quick return on Monday.
