PNP since September 1rst

Posted: 23 Sep 2019 05:34 AM

The featured map presents precip normal (average) precipitation (PNP) since the first of the month based on MRMS precipitation estimates against long term station climatology analysis. Most of the state has been very wet shown in the 200% and higher range. There has been a few areas left out though primarily south and east of Des Moines. The rainfall during the coming week is expected to mostly miss this area as well. It is getting too late in the growing season for this lack of rain to impact the current crop and so now dry weather is likely more helpful to help crop harvest to progress.
