Some showers and thunderstorms visited the state over the past weekend and the featured map displays the combination of MRMS rainfall estimates for the two days with the most recent US Drought Monitor overlaid. The heaviest totals were isolated to far southern Iowa, which conveniently avoided the presently driest areas of the state. The good news is that rain is in the forecast for much of this week, but it remains to be seen how much will fall over the driest areas of the state.
