Who got an inch yesterday?

Posted: 19 Aug 2019 05:34 AM

A storm complex rolled through Iowa early Sunday morning and brought some much needed rainfall. The featured chart attempts to quantify where at least an inch of rain fell by partitioning the state by its previous 31 day departure. Overall, just over a quarter of the state received an inch or more of rainfall on Sunday. The recently driest area of the state mostly missed out on the inch plus rainfall. The blue bars show that only about 15% of the state was above average for rainfall over the past 31 days prior to Sunday.
