The fluffy snow that fell on Tuesday into Wednesday will be on the move on Thursday thanks to a very windy conditions. The NWS has issued Winter Weather Advisories and even Blizzard Warnings to cover the threat to travel the blowing snow poses. The featured map displays the combination of these alerts and a current snow depth analysis. The combination shows why northwestern Iowa is not covered by the alerts as they have little snow to blow around. Besides the blowing snow threat, the wind and cold air temperatures will create dangerous wind chills way below zero Fahrenheit.
