The big rainfall events of July continued into August on Monday with a stripe of very intense rainfall falling over southwestern Iowa. The featured map displays radar based estimates produced by the Iowa Flood Center. Values between 4 to 7 inches were actually reported as well in this area. It is interesting to see how quickly values trailed off just moving a bit east of the area. More storms are in the same area this morning with a Flash Flood Watch in place until noon today.
