The "Godzilla" El Nino of last fall and early winter is quickly moving toward an expected La Nina later this year. The featured chart shows the combination of monthly departures for Iowa areal averaged precipitation and El Nino 3.4 index. It will be interesting to see what happens with our weather for the rest of this year as the spring time has been dry for some portions of the state and the planted crops will start more intensive water usage soon.
