The featured chart presents the daily distribution of fall season to date coldest daily high temperature for Des Moines. 48 has been the coldest to date (back on 29 Oct) and the chart would indicate that roughly half of the years have seen a frozen day by now with the high temperature below freezing! Only 1964 had a warmer to date minimum high of 49 degrees. The forecast does not have really cold air arriving until this coming weekend.
