Plenty of warm days

Posted: 01 Nov 2010 05:35 AM

With October now in the books, a look back on the number of days where the high was above average shows plenty of warm days were to be had for the month. In fact, October saw the largest number of days above normal for high temperature since last November and made for the eight month in a row where there were more than 15 days above average for high and low temperature. Based on IEM calculations, this is only the third time on record for Des Moines to have such a streak last eight months (1987 and 2006). November looks to start off on the cool side with mostly dry weather expected.
