How cold and how wet?

Posted: 29 Nov 2007 07:45 AM

The featured map is a of precipitable water (amount of water in a column of atmosphere) and near surface air temperatures (32 F contour shown) on Saturday evening from the NAM weather forecast model. The model shows the entire state below freezing with copious amounts of water available for the upcoming storm to work with. The exact placement of the heavy rainfall, sleet, ice, and snow bands is not clear cut yet with other forecast models providing much different solutions for location of the cold air. Regardless, it will be an event worth watching.
