Flooding risk

Posted: 30 May 2007 07:21 AM

The featured map is modelled soil moisture for the top 10 cm of soil taken from the Iowa Daily Erosion Project. Values around 45 mm (medium blue) indicate a saturated soil. These areas are at risk for flooding since the soil would not be able to soak in much rain water and thus it would run off into already full streams.
