Clear skies and fresh snowfall helped temperatures to drop well below zero and even below -20 degrees in Northwest Iowa. This large area of cold air was responsible for the terrible ice storm to our south as warm air from the gulf dropped rain into this cold air which then froze on contact. Our weather this week looks rather calm with the next chance of snow coming next weekend.
