Warm southerly winds helped to push temperatures well into the 80s and 90s for the first day of October. Today will be a couple of degrees warmer with dew points almost into the uncomfortable range. All of this heat and humidity will help to fire some strong storms over Eastern Iowa and especially Southern Wisconsin.
