The featured graph is of daily statewide average volumetric soil moisture values since March 1 based on our local modelling. A wet July and August have moistened the topsoil over much of the state and improved an otherwise dry situation that was setting up in May and June. This year has been somewhat atypical with May/June usually being very wet and July/August dry.
