WEPP modelled soil moisture estimates for a point in Northern Hardin County
The last two days we have featured the heavy rainfall that fell Tuesday morning over Northcentral Iowa. The featured image today is a plot of estimated soil moisture values for a location estimated to have received 9+ inches of rain on Tuesday. According to the WEPP model, a good portion of the rain soaked into the ground replenishing a soil that was desperately short of water. This rainfall appears to have come just in time to save crops in the area this year.
