The featured plot is RUC model forecasted 850 hPa heights and winds at 1 PM on Thursday. This low pressure system is really cranking up with almost hurricane strength winds circulating around the center in SW Michigan. Some of these strong winds will be mixed down to the surface today. The other major impact will be the cold air brought south into Iowa by this system. Its gonna feel like fall more than late spring!
