NEXRAD based rainfall estimates for yesterday show that not everyone in the state got rainfall yesterday. In fact, there is a really tight gradient of no rainfall versus around an inch of rainfall in Southern Iowa. It will be interesting to see how air temperatures vary over this area in the next couple of days, since a wet ground surface requires more energy to heat up and thus should be cooler than the surrounding areas if advection is nill.
