8 Mar 2005 Drought Monitor
A dry winter and dry start to March has left parts of Iowa designated as "abnormally dry". The "H" represents that this dryness is only hydrological, since no crops have been planted yet. The forecast holds numerous chances for precipitation, but their amounts are less than spectacular. We continue to be in a pattern dominated by dry air at the low levels and that makes rain and snow difficult to come by.
