Well, the ground didn't quite freeze, but it certainly got cool for this time of year. This plot shows recent 4 inch soil temperatures (black line) and daily solar radiation (red line). You can see the dramatic cool down last week during our stretch of cloudy days and record cool nights. Air temperatures look more seasonal this week, so soil temps should rise in response.
