Day 3 of Severe Weather Awareness Week focuses on the most infamous form of severe weather, tornados. Tornados were introduced to the public in the 1996 movie thriller Twister starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. Since then, the cottage industry of storm chasing, storm filming and storm tours has boomed. Tornados remain mostly a mystery still today, but their effects are being better mitigated.
